Taiwan labelled a Chinese Province by Google Maps
Google, in order to keep business in China, has labelled Taiwan a province of China on its mapping service. The Taiwan Solidarity Union (TSU) is demanding that Taiwan be recognised as a sovereign nation, and that Google publically apologise for the label of Chinese province. China maintains that any service referring to Taiwan as its own nation will be prevented from operation in China.
I'm somewhat worried about how China is treating Taiwan. There's a large military build up in China, they make sure the media doesn't mention Taiwan as independant, and speak of a "reunification" with Taiwan. China has also stated, that in the event of the US interfering with a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, China would respond with nuclear weapons. Also, once as I was talking with a Chinese friend of mine, the issue of Taiwan came up and she began talking about the glorious vision of China and hopes of American noninterference in reunification in such a way that no debate was possible. China's way or... no, it's China's way.
So just what happens when an irresistable force and an immovable object collide?
